About This Listing

This ultra rare, Parker DF824 MIDI is in MINT condition, plays smooth, and sounds incredible! This model was only produced for a few years and is highly coveted by Parker collectors. It is a bit of a unicorn and just about as rare as it gets for a Parker. As such, it is priced accordingly. Overall, it does not appear that many Dragon Fly/Maxxfly models with the complete carbon fiber wrapping were made (either DF824 or DF842), as only a few have been available on the used market over the last couple years. The fact that this particular specimen comes with the factory-installed Graphtech midi Hexspander and controls makes it even more rare. In fact, I cannot find a single past example for sale on the used market since Parker went out-of-business in 2015. Lastly, the factory wood specs for this model are a basswood neck and an alder body (see the last pic of the catalog page). However, as signified by the "MA" after the serial number, this one has a mahogany neck ("M") and an alder ("A") body. So, perhaps it was a custom build (?).

All of the hardware and electronics appear to be original and work perfectly---including the piezo and midi systems---and a 10 gauge trem spring is currently installed. I am an avid Parker collector and have owned more Parkers than I can recall. In terms of playability and tone, this guitar is the ultimate Parker. At only 6lbs 4oz on my mailing scale, this axe is super light, comfortable, and plays very smooth. In fact, I find this model to be more comfortable than the Fly. Moreover, this guitar is ultra-resonant and the notes ring out very loud and clear. The tone is HUGE---without a doubt, this is the fattest sounding Parker I've ever heard.

As listed, this guitar is in MINT condition. After a close inspection, I cannot find a single sign of wear on the instrument. No dings, dents, marks, etc. It is exceptionally clean. This axe will ship in its original Parker, TKL hard case and will include tools, paperwork, and the original, unused stereo y-cable. Lastly, this guitar will be expertly packed with plenty of bracing and soft filler material to ensure safe transport to its new home.
