Kluson Lightweight Aluminum Wraparound Bridge Tailpiece KWRAPAL-N Made in USA!

This is a brand new Kluson KWRAPAL-N lightweight aluminum wraparound bridge/tailpiece in nickel, item is sealed in its retail package. Includes the tailpiece and two steel posts. The studs are US threads 5/16"x 24, for Gibson electrics and other US stop tailpieces. The tailpiece, however, will fit any wraparound setup with a 3 1/4" stud spacing if you reuse your existing studs. Intonation is adjusted by positioning the bridge with rear set screws behind each post, strings pass through it from the front and "wraparound" the top. Also note the tailpiece is a traditional dome shape with no edge on the top surface, the "lines" you see in the listing pic running length-wise are just light reflections.  

The Kluson ® aluminum wraparound bridge is true to vintage specifications. Made from light-weight aluminum to increase string definition and resonance on those instruments using darker tone woods like mahogany, while reducing weight. Back in the '50s, Gibson used aluminum for their stop bar and wraparound tailpieces. For whatever reason, they switched to zinc, which is still used today on all but the historic line (aluminum reappeared on Historics in 2002, I believe).  

The aluminum tailpieces weigh 1/4 that of the zinc and produce a much different sound. They transfer vibrations differently,  resulting in a woodier, more airy vintage tone -  richer, rounder mids but with more upper harmonics as well. Unplugged, the guitar seems almost more "acoustic" and resonant. Plugged in,  the notes are warmer and rounder with more harmonics vs. heavier fundamentals with the zinc.  

Kluson doubles down on the vintage vibe and includes steel tailpiece studs with the set for true vintage spec and tone.
