Used Stainer brand full size violin in the coffin hard wood case
we had this fixed up by our luthier to make it play as a fiddle so he says that is a little less curve to the top of the bridge
It now sounds really really good. Strong clear bright sound
This one is nice and strong and loud
if thats what you want this is it
at only $750 you will get a violin as good of sounding as something else that is 3 to 4 times as much money
he fit a used ebony fingerboard on it as what came on it was not ebony
re-cut and shaped and polished the nut
new did the fiddle bridge cut
new sound post
polished and touched up the varnish as much as possible with out complete resoration
new strings
new end button
he has over 3 hours labor into it
it came out great
includes the vintage antique case which is cool but not practical for daily use
he said the bow is a good $80 to $100 bow that does need to haired
selling it as is as shown as vintage antique playing instruments plenty of age, worn, patina
this has the "gears" on it like an up-right bass not pegs. The D string tuner gear is some what stripped. We got it in tune with a little finesse. We had to hold the gear together with open end wrench to make teeth line up. We had ordered a new set of "gears" and they do not fit.
Bow reads L. Bausch Leitzig
