Vintage Saga 5-String Resonator Banjo. Includes a new locking hardshell case, Levy's leather strap, a set of two finger picks and thumb pick, and an extra set of D'addario strings.
This classic 1970's era Saga is in excellent shape. Beyond some light scratches on the back of the resonator and a couple small finish cracks near the peghead, this banjo is nearly flawless!
The banjo features a one-piece solid cast rim with an integral flathead tone ring, a heavy-duty, grooved, tension hoop that is machined, polished and triple nickel-plated, a one-piece nickel flange plate, a bound mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod and mother of pearl position markers, a bound Mahogany resonator, planetary tuners, a classic clamshell-style tailpiece, and a Remo fiberskyn head.
The banjo has been completely set-up with low fast action and the head has been tuned via Drum Dial. As for the sound, the Saga has quick attack, rapid decay, and clarity of tone that is a must for any bluegrass pickin'! This is a great instrument for a beginner, advanced student, or even as a back up for pro!
