About This Listing

This has been an industry secret for getting great overdrive tones in the studio - The DOD FX51 Juice Box. Dod was Founded in 1973 by David Oreste DiFrancesco and John Johnson, DOD Electronics was later purchased by Harman, the parent company of DigiTech. DOD effects are popular within the experimental/noise music community, and are prized for their unique sounds. In the 90's a man named Jason Lamb entered the scene and helped produce analog effects under the DOD moniker. He introduced the Grunge pedal which was hugely successful, as well as many others. In 2013, the DOD brand (DIGITECH's analog division) was revived with a number of re-releases of classic effects including the Meat Box Sub synth. Unfortunately DOD and DIGITECH have both been discontinued for good after Samsung purchased the company in 2016.

The FX51 Juice Box, introduced in 1996, was Jason Lambs first overdrive pedal. Designed to add an extra boost to a distorted amp channel, the Juice Box is also capable of functioning as a primary distortion pedal in a signal chain. Onboard EQ helps shape the tone and means a wide array of distorted sounds are possible within one pedal. I have a couple others but selling off a lot of my collection, works great. The Juice box is one of my forever pedals, I love what it does on bass and guitar alike. It has great low end, and gives overdrive tones without the shrill high fizz that boss pedals will give you. I won't even play without my fx 51 and fx 10.
