(Serial No. 177951) Excellent condition, cherry sunburst finish. The Gibson A5 has had a lot of different configurations over the years. This era A5 has the oval soundhole and the two point body shape, as used by Jethro Burns. Flamed maple back and sides, F5 style peghead with a pearl logo and crown onlay, flat rosewood fretboard with a 1 1/8 inch nut, and a newer rosewood bridge. Nickle hardware. The frets were dressed and the mandolin was just professionally set up by luthier Jerry Ray. The big scroll on the F style peghead was knocked off and reglued. Its a decent job but the repair is visible. A strap pin hole was filled in the neck heel. No other repairs are evident. Good bass response and a nice round sound. Comes with a non-original rectangular flat case.
