Parker Fly Limited Edition Tulip Wood #36 of 36 made in 1998 Signed and numbered by Ken Parker. This limited edition run of Parker Fly guitars came out in 1998 along side the Limited Edition Fly Butternut which of only 50 were made. Both Limited Edition guitars were signed and numbered by Ken Parker himself. Both models feature light figuring that runs perpendicular to the wide grain. The Fly Tulipwood Limited Edition is constructed of a solid piece of tulipwood quartersawn from trees native to the eastern U.S. limited to only 36 of these instruments and finished in transparent emerald green.
Along with the Tulip wood material for the guitar’s body is the signature carbon fiber exoskeleton as well as a basswood neck with glass and carbon fiber fingerboard and a reinforced carved finger joint. Equipped with Dimarzio ceramic magnet Humbucker pickups as well as a Piezo with a large variety of tone and blend options. The guitar has stereo outputs for use of multiple amps which is commonly used to send the Piezo pickup to an acoustic amp and the Humbuckers to an electric amp with an included stereo Y-cable. The controls include two 3-way switches which are a 3-way pickup selector for the Humbucker pickups and a pickup selector to switch between the Piezo and Humbuckers as well as both pickups on simultaniousley with their own isolated tone and volume controls. Other key features of this Parker Fly guitar are stainless steel frets, precision-cast aluminum vibrato, Sperzel locking tuning machines, and a graph tech nut.
This is one of the best playing and sounding instruments you could ever ask for which was designed with some serious inovation, attention to detail and with playability in mind. This guitar is freshly re-strung with 9-46 gauge strings, cleaned, polished and setup with flawless action and playability just the way Ken Parker intended for his guitars to be. This guitar is in near mint condition with only very light surface scratches, but no dings, dents, damages or modifications of any kind.
This Limited Edition Tulip Wood model was the very best of the Parker guitar line at the time of it’s release and since these Tulip wood models rarely surface. We were only able to find one other previous Tulip Wood listing which was #2 of 36 and the seller was asking $9,000. Our guitar is in near mint condition and comes with the original Parker hardshell case, instruction manual, adjustment tools, stereo cable, and case candy.
