I built this guitar starting with the body, and tried to coordinate all of the components to create an aesthetically beautiful but versatile guitar. Everything was custom spec'd; from the gold blade DiMarzio pickups, Calaham bridge, Mojotone wiring harness to the gold hardware. Looks great, plays great and has super high quality components...
Specs: Pickups: DiMarzio custom (gold) Blade, humbucker pickups and a custom gold screw P90 size humbucker pickup in the bridge position. The pickups are: Neck - Pro Track (7.7k). Middle - Chopper (9k). Bridge - Deluxe Plus (13.8k). These pickups are clean and mean with no noise... .022 cap for a little more treble response but these kick butt! These 6 wire pickups can be wired in series, parallel or single coil. With series and parallel wiring you still get no hum! Nice.
I have added two DPDT switches (on/on) to switch the middle and bridge pickups from series to parallel... This gives more of a strat (quack) sound in the 2 and 4 and a little cleaner middle pickup sound. All positions are still hum cancelling.
No solder Mojotone custom wiring harness (5 way switching, treble bleed, 2 tones – neck and bridge), which allows changing pickups without soldering and re-soldering... Just plug wire leads into plugin harness – use any strat or P90 pickups or P90 size humbuckers... Easy! 4 wire pickups (humbucking) can be plugged into the wire connector in series or parallel so there are some options with this without redoing the mojotone setup. All pickup routes and control body cavities coated with shielding paint...
Body: chambered swamp ash Warmouth body with satin finish – Black to clear burst. 2 lbs. 14 oz. Neck: quartersawn satin finish Warmouth maple neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard – 10-16" compound radius 59' roundback profile – gold, 6150 frets – this is the modern type neck with 2 adjustments – main at the heel and a fine adjustment on the side of the neck which can be adjusted on the fly by loosening string tension – 2 allen wrenches... This body is unusual in that it has a body contour but not a contoured heel... which I prefer on Warmouth bolt-on bodies.
Hardware: gold parts with custom low height gold knobs, Kluson Supreme staggered tuners 18:1 (no string tree) all screws gold...
Bridge: Callaham custom American Standard hardtail bridge with compensated brass saddles...
Total Weight: 6.1 lbs.
