Up
for sale is a RARE 1981 Tokai “The Strat” model ST-70
Limited edition in excellent condition. 100% original. A really well made replica of
“The Strat” model. Made in Japan.
The
official catalog says it's “Lake Blue” finish but it's fading
nicely and I think now it's retro deep vintage color. The finish on
this guitar is Superb (Thin
finish, unlike the Fenders of the era which were invariably coated in
a thick tone-killing polyester skin).
It
features Alder body, Maple neck with Matching headstock, Maple
fretboard, Brass
bridge, block, saddles and knobs. It's a really solid bridge that
gives the guitar a bright, twangy sound. Pickups are the original "U
Stamped Gray Bottom". All the electronics are the original.
The
body has some minor dings and minor nicks at edges, a small dent on
the backside near the back plate. Otherwise very clean body with only
minor scratches. The hardware is tarnished but looks great. The neck
has natural relic at the fingerboard, a thin finish clear peeling on
the front of the headstock, a few minor dings at the headstock edges,
weather checking on the backside. Backside of the neck smooth.
The
neck is Straight. The truss rod works fine at either directions. The
vintage frets with low crowns show some wear but overall are in good
shape with no any grooves. 40 years passed since new but it's
very comfortable to play with low-action (1.8mm/1.9mm @12th
fret).
You
can see the High-res photos. For more details please see the photos.
The
weight of the guitar is 3.73kg (8.22lbs). No case included but will
be correctly packed for shipment.
I
pack carefully for a long journey!
