I’ve owned Roscoes, Zons, Foderas (both custom and standard), as well as a myriad other bass guitars. Nothing has or will compare to the amazing experiences I’ve had with Dingwall bass guitars. They are arguably the most amazing, most sonically impressive, most aurally imposing, most incredible playing instruments I’ve ever laid hands on in my 30 years of playing...
Purchased in September of 2020, up for sale is my Canadian custom shop Dingwall ABZ6. The bass was completed and shipped in January 2020. I am the original owner and it has been kept in my smoke free and pet free home (no slight intended to pet owning smokers amongst the viewing audience). Additionally, it has been kept in a well controlled and humidified climate (72 degrees F at 45% humidity). The condition is exceedingly close to mint - there may be some incidental marks on the pickup covers, otherwise there isn’t a mark anywhere on the bass. I’ve graded as excellent in an effort to be reserved in my description
This bass is absolutely amazing, and if it weren’t for the progression of my MS and RA I would keep this bass for the rest of my life. However with that said, I’ve finally come to the realization today that playing is now behind me and that maybe I should find a home for the bass and move on with my the rest of my life.
The bass features a one piece swamp ash body finished in a spectacular matte 3 color sunburst. The beauty and the feel of the wood grain is palpable through the raw filler free finish. The neck and fingerboard are wenge. The feel and the tone of wenge is positively amazing. I’ve had many wenge necked instruments and it is by far the most spectacular neck wood in my estimation. The playability of the bass is sublime. Even for a player of 5’7” and little tiny baby hands (ie me). The tone is what you would expect of a Dingwall - massive and commanding. Sparkle and harmonics for days. I really can’t say enough about this instrument.
The electronics are passive with a tone, 4 way selector, and 3 mini switches. As someone who has used active electronics their entire playing life, I can say that this bass doesn’t need them. It has been a sonic revelation to me. For anyone who is skeptical, I would say you should put your concerns aside and go for it...you won’t regret it.
Shipping price is for the contiguous 48 states. Alaskan, Hawaiian, and foreign buyers are welcome, just please contact me for a shipping quote before buying. As this bass is for sale on multiple platforms, locally here in Ohio, and privately, I do reserve the right to end the listing at any time. I would encourage anyone who is interested in the bass but doesn’t like the impact that sales tax will have on the purchase price to seek me out as the bass is not for exclusive sale here on reverb.
Thank you so much for your interest, I’m always available to help and assist in anyway. All my best to you.
Featuring a Swamp Ash body, Wenge Neck and Fretboard, 3x pickups, passive electronics with 3x series/parallel toggles and black hardware, this bass is light, resonant, punchy, and has a classic look for a modern instrument.
