The PZ-DI is a specialized high-performance active direct box designed to accommodate acoustic and orchestral instruments, with a selectable input impedance that can accommodate magnetic microphones or piezoelectric transducers, and a variable low-pass filter.

Piezo problem solver
The PZ-DI features a variable load switch that lets you adjust the input impedance of the direct box, so you can optimize performance with your instrument's mics. The 1 megohm setting offers the classic impedance found on most active DI boxes, while the 220k ohm setting warms up the tone of magnetic pickups to provide the feel and tone as if your instrument were connected directly to an amplifier. The third setting is an ultra-high 10 megohm impedance specifically designed for piezo transducers, helping to compensate for the harsh or squawky tone that can occur when a piezo is connected to a lower impedance input.

Variable filter to fit any instrument
To eliminate unwanted stage resonance and prevent feedback, the PZ-DI features a fully variable low-pass filter that gently attenuates low frequencies. The attenuation point of this filter can be raised or lowered to match the frequency response of your instrument, with a lower point for acoustic bass and a higher setting for violin or banjo. A switchable high-cut filter is also included, which is useful on instruments such as acoustic guitars that incorporate a battery-powered preamp, softening any harshness or high-frequency edge for a smoother sound.

[4] All instruments are inspected and set up before shipping, therefore all boxes could be opened. We may also ship in a different box if we judge it is more secure to use a better packaging. If an instrument needs a setup at destination, there are the sole buyer responsibilities as the instrument has been verified and set up before shipping.

[5] There is NO return for international transactions and overseas shipping. Our return policy does not apply to International transactions, only to the Canadian market. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to verify if the manufacturer will accept the warranty for an international transaction, otherwise they will be considered as used.

[6] If an item arrives Damaged, please send us pictures of the external box and damage within the first 24 hours. Failure to do so will automatically void the insurance with the carrier. Keep the box until further notice and wait for our instructions for the next step. Having an instrument setup by yourself or a non-certified technician could void the warranty and insurance on shipping.
