Vox Hurricane V234 1965-1968 Faded Blue

This super cool vintage Vox Hurricane sports a nicely faded blue finish with dual single coil pickups and the distinctive “rounded shark fin” headstock shape.  These fine representatives of the 1960s were manufactured in Italy by the Eko Corporation likely between 1965 and 1968.  It features a unique bridge assembly that is similar to a Bigsby style vibrato system, only with a little more give and response than most Bigsbys.  The pickguard is a modern reproduction; the original is included but has cracked, hence the replacement.  The neck sports a bound rosewood finger board with dot inlays and 22 frets.  The contoured body is similar in shape to a Strat, only somewhat stretched out and elongated.   The two single coil pickups are controlled by a 3-way selection switch as well as two tone controls and one volume control.  They have a sound that would pair perfectly with an older Fender amp with the reverb cranked.  There was originally a resistor in the wiring of the neck pickup; we removed it as it sounded very thin.  The resistor is included in the bag with the original pickguard.  Cosmetically the body has a decent amount of wear; there are some dark scuffs on the back of the body and finish cracks/checking throughout the back, sides, and top.  The neck has fared much better over the years, with only a small finish crack towards the base of the headstock between the nut and the Low E tuning machine. The guitar has been set-up for our in-house tech for optimal playability.  The action is very comfortable and the guitar plays like a dream!  It weighs in at about 8 lbs 2 ounces.  Overall this is a fantastic Italian-made vintage piece that just screams 1966!  You’ll be riding the reverb-soaked waves in no time with this baby!  No case included.
