- 1961 Gibson Byrdland - Sunburst incl. orig. brown case. The Byrdland original designed for jazzguitarist Charly Byrd and westernswing guitarist Hank Garland. In fact an L-5 with a narrow neck and shorter scale 23,5”. When played it feels very comfortable and you get fast used to it. This guitar is in good condition for its 55 years of age and all original. Great playability and very good warm sounding, due to the solid carved spruce top. Fretwork is flat but still factory-original. Some cracked binding which have been fixed along the neck. Back of the neck bears some playwear as the area on top under the pickguard, so pickguard was was removed for a longer period. Pickguard has a crack. Gold hardware has faded. Both narrow spaced humbuckers are original PAF’s. The top around the pickup holes bears some signs that the guitar was fitted with P90’s or Alnico’s for some time. The legendaric great sounding original PAF’s are back in place at the moment. Guitar comes with its original brown hardshell case with pink plush lining.
