About This Listing

Final price reduction.
Here is a rare Hamer Talladega, one of the last designs to come out of the Hamer Custom Shop and the basis for a lot of the guitars Jol Dantzig is custom making these days.

This example is in excellent, close to mint condition and features a gorgeous flame maple cap in 3 color sunburst on chambered Honduran Mahogany body, beefy 25.5" scale maple sot V neck with a bone nut, dark rich Indian Rosewood board and pearl inlays, TonePros Kluson-style tuners and Hamer's renowned Sustain Block bridge. It weighs 8 lbs on the nose. It comes with the original Hamer hardshell case in good shape and the original COA, adjustment notes and spec cut sheet.

The Talladega spans the sonic territory of an LP, a Tele and a Jr. The Duncan Custom Shop Double D (Duncan/Dantzig) pickups are remarkable and only ever offered on this model. The bridge tones are a fat Nashville twang and bark with a touch p-90 nasty thrown in.  The neck pickup is warm, sweet and articulate -  like a more defined PAF.  Together they are sweet Cropper-esque twang.

I did remove the four-way switch that enabled series operation as it always got me confused.  Too used to a tele I suppose. Anyway, it's in the case if you want to wire it back in.

This is a rare opportunity to get your hands on the pinnacle of Hamer's craft at a price that puts lesser custom shops to shame.

“The Talladega is amazing, offering up a new yet recognizable sonic palette that players from many different backgrounds will find both useful and familiar.” - James Egolf, Premiere Guitar
