The Zoom G1X FOUR is a guitar multi-effects processor with a built-in expression pedal, and that treadle is the one thing that separates it from the G1 FOUR. A foot on the pedal works a wah through a solo, swells volume into a chorus, or bends a pitch effect, all while both hands keep playing. Behind it sit the same tools as its sibling: more than 60 effects, 13 amp models, and up to five effects chained across 50 patches. Amps, Effects, and a Wah Built In

Thirteen amp models run from glassy cleans to saturated high gain, and the effect set spans overdrive, distortion, delay, reverb, modulation, and unusual voices like a ring modulator and a sitar. The expression pedal can become a wah, a volume swell, or a pitch control assigned to any patch, so there is no separate wah to add to the board. Up to five effects chain at once and store across 50 memory locations for footswitch recall. One box covers a whole set of tones and the moves that bring them alive.

A Practice Rig That Fits a Backpack

A 30-second looper lets a player stack a rhythm part and solo over it, with the expression pedal shaping the loop as it plays back. Sixty-eight rhythm patterns supply a beat to lock into, and a chromatic tuner keeps tunings honest between songs. For the bedroom player, it is a complete practice station that also travels to the gig. Parts worked out at home load on stage in the very same patches.

Record Direct and Expand Over USB

Plugged into a computer over USB, the G1X FOUR is an audio interface that records guitar with amp models, effects, and expression moves printed in. Zoom Guitar Lab manages patches, backs them up, and grows the effect library. Four AA batteries give up to 18 hours of runtime, with USB bus power and the AD-16 adapter for desk use. The expression pedal, the amp models, and that portability make it a full fly-rig you can carry in one hand.
