Study the neck carefully in the last three pictures.
Piezo Bridge Pickup
The hilt is brass. The blade is hardened pewter. The Dragon is dead. ;-)
This guitar has a story, as you can imagine.
I am a lover of Warrior guitars. J Dran and his sons have developed one the the premier boutique lines of guitars in the world.
Several years ago, my family and I went to the fountain of Warrior guitars in Roswell Georgia. Of course, we left with Warriors for everyone. I and two of my sons play Warrior guitars; another son plays a Warrior bass. (Alas, Warrior does not make drums, so the final brother is condemned to to play a DW drum kit.)
After our "pilgrimage" to Warrior, I began my quest of collecting Warriors. Yes, truly, they are worthy.
On one of my trips to the Warrior mecca to pick up another guitar, J.D. (Mr. Warrior Himself) retrieved from his private vault an unfinished fretboard with a snake winding its way from bottom to top. It looked like it was alive, and could bite the player at any moment.
I was duly impressed, but explained to him that I would not have a "live snake" on any guitar I owned and played. Sorry.
We continued to talk, and he explained to me that since the frets slots had not been cut, nor the frets laid in, I could alter the inlay on the fretboard. He asked me, "What would you like it to look like."
That sent my imagination into fervent motion.
I have a love of the theme of "Dragon Slayers" in literature, art, and movies. I conceived of a sword - going from the headstock, through the snakes body, out of the snakes body, into the mouth, and then out of the back of the head.
The eyes had to be made to look dead. The blood spurts of the wounds had to be credible in every entrance and exit wound; the hilt had to look real.
Thus, the "Dragon Slayer" was born.
I asked to have an LL Baggs bridge pickup for the acoustic sound, which I have on several of my Warriors.
Now look at the body. It is burled redwood. Not rosewood, burled redwood.
In my years of viewing and collecting guitars, I are not seen burled redwood. I don't doubt that other guitars have it, but I have not seen it.
It is gorgeous. And the blood red theme of the body matches the theme of the guitar: Dragon Slayer.
The neck is a solid piece of Mahogany.
The headstock matches the body.
The blood of the blade through the head of the snake drips all the way to the 24th fret, and beyond the 24th fret.
I don't care where you look on planet earth. And I mean that literally. Search the world for a guitar with this message.
You will only find a handful of guitars that are even in the realm of this instrument. And as are ALL Warriors, this guitar is made to be played. The playability and tone options are world class.
What is it worth?
On the day JD and I cut this deal, he was in the mood to "wheel and deal."
I did not have the money this guitar would cost. But I did have a car...
I offered to trade my Mercedes 450 GL for the finished world class, dream guitar. And I was happy to do so. He agreed...and the Dragon Slayer was born.
This guitar deserves to be in a masterpiece collection, OR ONSTAGE.
Picture this guitar in concert...or any live setting. Picture it in your hands, or on your wall. ESPECIALLY in a love setting. That is truly where it belongs.
Contact me with any questions. I am open to offers, but no low balls. This is a masterpiece for the serious collector or player.
We have a family member with serious health issues, and I have to sell some of my best pieces to raise money. This is one of them.
It will come in a beautiful Warrior faux crocodile case, packed to the hilt, and fully insured.
