About This Listing

ESP Mx-250 Made in 27 July 1992 Genuine ''Man To Wolf'' James Hetfield Explorer SERIAL: 27072XXX

ESP Mx-250 ''Man to wolf'' & Mx-220 ''EET FUK'' middle finger inlays were drawn by Hetfield!

This one is Genuine ESP Man to wolf inlays Mx-250! I think you saw few month ago on Reverb page real ESP '94 Mx250 (when i checked serial its real ESP) but FAKE INLAYS Man to wolf where i know it? pls check my videos i shared inlay details. When you see it maybe you can understand it which ones real and fake?

So i have real one its NOT FAKE :) Check WOLF teeths on last picture (up side 92 and down side 94)

My Man to wolf history ; I bought from first owner in 2018 september. First owner bought in 2001 from ESP and he is worked (Luthier) to ESP

If you want to need guitar serial pls check pics & my videos i shared my 3 black Mx250 serials in the video and on there have 3 pcs black Mx250 but 1 Black Mx250 sold to Usa like 1 month ago..

I shared the sign of WOLFMAN (Ookami Otoko) in Japanese you can see it on pics under the Emg 81 (on guitar body) you can see on 9th picture from 1992 ESP Mx-300VP (i have this Jp magazine)

MX-300VP VP = That's obviously made the VP (Vice President) of ESP

LIMITED EDITIONS - Called in Japan "Special Interest Group" They are all custom orders, no production series.

The body style of the old ESP Explorer (MX-220, MX-250, EXP) was retired due to Gibson Lawsuit in 2000, and a new body called "EX" was introduced.

Starting from 2000 the MX-250 model was available only for Japan custom orders (called MX-2). They made only few every year at Kiso custom shop factory.

It's hilarious that Gibson in 2012 release the "Epiphone 1984 Explorer EX" copying control pot configuration of ESP MX-220/250/EXP, a sort of revenge.

To the new design of the MX-220 was given the name MX-250 called also MX-250II or MX-250-2 or later MX-II

ESP M (Metallica) X (eXplorer) - 250 (price in yen) II (2 pickups)
It appears officially in the 1993 catalog.

This guitar was produced before esp factory fire in 2000 after the fire serial numbers were changed they started with ''K'' produced (2000 early the Esp factory before burning) you can see my guitar serial number is all (27072XXX) 8 digits serial number stamped in white, after 2000 other Mx250 guitars serial numbers start with “K” + 7 number.

Pls Note; before 2000 and after 2000 Mx250 guitars not same becasue all real Mx250 guitar documents burn in 2000 with Esp Factory.

About James Hetfield Man To Wolf Mx-250 ;

The first (1991) and original owned by James Hetfield. This is the most famous model that James Hetfield use, from the "Black Album era" to today. In every live concert or studio recording. One of the more special MX-250 guitars that James acquires during the black album era.

Back in 1991-92 when James was using this guitar extensively on the Roam tour, ESP in Japan made a special limited run of these guitars called the Metallica Special Interest Group. Today 29 years later, how many were actually made is unknown, but i found including the original owned by James Hetfield 4 pcs (without '94 fake inlays one)

Hetfield one has 2 screws truss rod cover. It same with Eet Fuk Mx-220 truss rod cover. But other '92 (x3) have bell type truss rod cover! Note : BELL truss rod cover was changed to BULLET after 1996 Gibson style single screw bell shaped truss rod cover changed in 1997 to bullet style truss rod cover!

And Lots of Metallica fans had the chance to see it closely this guitar in 2012 on Metallica Museum ORION Music Festival with ESP Eet Fuk Mx-220 !!

Then In 2016-17 ESP Museum Craft House in Shibuya,Tokyo & 2017 NAMM ESP exhibition stand ;

And in 2019 James start to use again this guitar live, equipped with his new EMG JH Set Pickups ;

So in the early 90's if you want a Genuine Esp Mx250 Man To Wolf like one used by James, you have only to buy this one because you cant find another Genuine one for buying !
