Please do see my other listings for other vintage guitar speakers / amps etc.
Here we have a killer Cabinet from 1972
I have literally just bought another of these and I cant justify having more than 14 Simms watts 4x12s(I thought having 10 was enough, clearly not)
Fully functional with its original quad of 1972 Fanes with Pulsonic cones
200 watts @ 16 ohms
Great speakers, listen to ‘Live at Leeds’ by The Who to get an idea of what these speakers can do.These cabinets were made by Rawson Sparfield who also made stuff for Vox, Soundcity, WEM, Centre and Hiwatt(among others)
construction wise this is exactly the same as a mk2 Soundcity cab(ie no back panel port - cut out grab handles) and early Hiwatt cabs pre 1970 so will sound very similar.
Fanes are very efficient speakers and this is just as well suited to bass as it is to guitar(not to mention keys and downtuned guitar stuff).
it's not cheap but I can get £1200 for the speakers easily(they have their original Simms watts magnet covers, well apart from one of them ), truth be told I'd rather not break the cab, which would be a shame.
Original logos, serial number and cloth(with one tear - see photo)
it has its original metal feet and is missing one corner protector.
The cab has been painted black in the past(rather a common thing in the seventies), the original tolex is still on the cab(just not on the back panel,0 all the joints are rock solid and it is structurally sound.
The back panel screws were shot when I got this so it has newer vintage spec posi domed head screws.
That seems to cover it
Anything else please do ask!
