1970 Sound City L110 4x12 Lead Guitar Speaker Cabinet Original Fane 122190 Pulsonic Speakers Solid Plywood Cabinet

Here's something you won't see every day in the states. A 1970-71 Sound City L110 4x12 speaker cabinet. The late 60s to the very early 70s are the finest years for these cabinets. Around 1972 the cabinets were being made of cheap MDF and front loaded with Eminence drivers in the US. You will see those cabinet for very cheap. This is a SOLID plywood cabinet with the original Fane 122190 cast frame speakers. The best years of Fane speakers were late 60s to early 70s as well. Featuring their original Pulsonic cones these speakers sound amazing. A little different than the Hiwatt labled Fanes. Same familiar woody tone with a serious greenback-esque bite. This is easily one of my favorite sounding cabinets. Paired with a Hiwatt its simply unreal. Certainly wakes up a lack luster Sound City head as well. The wood and the Fanes are why. I've owned a few of these similar cabinets and can draw that conclusion. The speakers are all in great shape and have been checked over completely. Two of the dust caps were replaced when the coil gaps needed to be cleaned. This was done cleanly without causing ANY damage to the cones whatsoever. I repeat no cones were harmed in the replacement of those dust caps. The caps used were identical to the original in size. You can see in the photos I have included two photos for comparison. This doesn't change the sound at all. Its mainly cosmetic. A couple of minor edge cracks in the cone were also repaired with the lightest dab of glue. Again. You won't hear any difference but if you go looking for it its there. Features a new set of back screws and finishing washers. Two were not installed because at one point the screws must have broken off in the hole. Simply skipping them causes no issues. The back panel doesn't vibrate or remain loose without them. This is a great addition to any guitar cabinet collection and an absolute necessity for an English amplifier enthusiast. You won't be disappointed in the sound and build quality here!
