The Sanctuary Perspective

The Radial BigShot ABY is an ultra-compact, 100% passive true-bypass A/B/Y switcher engineered for guitarists and bassists who want to drive two amplifiers either individually or simultaneously. Standard passive ABY switchers frequently suffer from loud ground loops, 60-cycle buzz, and phase cancellation when both amplifiers are engaged. The BigShot ABY solves these issues completely by incorporating a switchable custom isolation transformer on Output B, a 180° phase inversion switch, and a ground lift. Operating mechanically with true-bypass signal routing, the BigShot ABY preserves 100% of your instrument's natural tone with zero active coloration.

Product Intelligence & Signal Architecture Profile

• Best For: Dual Amplifier Rigs (A, B, or A+B), Wet/Dry Setup Integration, Pedalboard Utility Routing, and Silent Tuner Switching.
• Sound Character: 100% transparent, uncolored, and dynamic with true mechanical bypass switching, zero tone loading, and dead-quiet ground isolation.
• Compared To: Provides a 100% passive alternative to active ABY pedals like the Twin-City or Switchbone, while offering crucial transformer isolation and phase controls that budget passive ABY boxes lack entirely.
• Sanctuary Expert Note: "Running two amps together creates a massive wall of sound, but standard passive ABY boxes almost always introduce loud ground buzz or thin out your tone due to phase cancellation. Engaging the BigShot ABY's internal transformer and phase flip fixes those issues instantly without needing power."

Key Features & Stage Engineering Highlights

• 100% Passive True-Bypass Signal Path: Pure mechanical switching ensures your direct guitar signal reaches your amplifiers completely uncolored when in single-amp mode.
• Switchable Isolation Transformer: Engages a custom Radial transformer on Output B to block stray electrical currents and eliminate 60-cycle ground loops in dual-amp mode.
• 180° Phase Inversion Switch: Flips the polarity on Output B to ensure both connected amplifiers move air in unison, preventing thin tone caused by acoustic phase cancellation.
• Isolated Ground Lift Switch: Disconnects signal ground paths on Output B to silence stubborn stage buzz instantly.
• Dual Heavy-Duty Footswitches: Dedicated footswitches allow seamless toggling between Amp A or Amp B, or engaging both Amp A + B simultaneously.
• Optional 9V Power for LEDs: Audio signal path operates 100% passively without power; connecting a standard 9V power supply powers bright LED indicators for dark stage environments.
