The Huss & Dalton MJ is their jumbo sized guitar, the largest body they make. This MJ custom harkens back to a day when the large archtops of the early 20th century became flat tops. Maple was the standard wood of choice for clarity and tone, with the large body able to drive the depth and volume. The 16″ lower bout and shallower 4 1/2″ body depth puts more midrange forward and helps it cut through any jam.
This MJ features a fancy set of premium Birdseye Maple with vintage toner, that was a rare find of some of the early models. Paired with a super clean straight grained Italian Spruce top, (the woods of choice on the early violins and archtops) with Adirondack Red Spruce scalloped braces and bound in contrasting figured Snakewood full bindings.
Features half herringbone top purfling and matching rosette, Mahogany neck, Ebony fretboard and bridge, Pearl ‘Stingray’ inlays and 1 3/4″ nut. This is a collectable handmade boutique guitar, with all the tone you could want and feel, be it blues, jazz, folk, flatpick, fingerstyle or any style you choose to play.
