This is the second version of our Masterbuilt Koa Penguin with Dynasonic pickups and engraved fingerboard inlays. When we got together with Stephen Stern at this years Namm show I threw out the idea about making a highly figured Koa Penguin with tortoise style binding. Six months later when this guitar arrived and the case was slowly opened we were mesmerized by the exquisite beauty of this skillfully crafted instrument. We have never seen anything like it. Once I put this Penguin in my hands there was no denying that this run of Penguins could be our favorite Gretsch guitars ever produced.
