Georgia Satellites/Mauro Magellan “Keep Your Hands To Yourself” Ludwig Drum Set.

24×16″ early 1980s Chicago large keystone badge 6 ply bass drum,  serial #3210794, 16×16″ early 1980s blue/olive badge 6 ply floor tom #2131613, 14×10 mid-1970s 3 ply rack tom #1135471.

Mauro Magellan used this black Ludwig drum set as a member of the Georgia Satellites between 1985 and 1990, the band’s most successful and prolific and period. He used a few different sets while a member of the Georgia Satellites but this black Ludwig was his favorite and most used. It can be seen most notably in the videos for the band’s two biggest songs “Keep Your Hands To Yourself” and Battleship Chains” as well as countless live performance videos. He also used this set for most of his recordings with the Georgia Satellites.

Rolling Stone magazine said “Keep Your Hands To Yourself” changed country music forever…

“Somebody made the comment that it was the song that saved rock & roll and ruined country music at the same time,” says Baird, laughing. “It meant, it brought rock & roll back to its roots for a few minutes, but it turned the corner on country being afraid of dumb loud guitars.”

The original black 14×10″ tom was stolen while touring and eventually returned and has been reunited with this set.
