STEINBERGER GM4S Electric Guitar 1989

Here is an amazing and rare Steinberger GM4S Newburg series electric guitar with the sought after S Trem bridge assembly. This guitar was professionally restored and upgraded by Peekamoose Custom Guitars LLC, New York. The electronics have been upgraded to bring this guitar to Pro level.

The original pickups were rather dull so I had Peekamoose professionally install a matched set of Seymour Duncan Hot Rails and P90 Hot Rails as follows.

Neck & Middle Position: Seymour Duncan SHR-1 Hot Rails Single Coil Pickups. One of the highest output pickups Duncan makes.

Bridge: Seymour Duncan SHPR-1b P-Rails Pickup. A hot P-90 paired with a blade pickup.

Switching: Seymour Duncan TS-1 Triple Shot Mounting Ring. Allows you flip your humbucker between series, parallel, and coil tapping.

The Seymour Duncan set with the full range switching make for a supremely versatile guitar.

STEINBERGER M SERIES. Dates of manufacture: 1988 to 2001. Production of the Steinberger GM4 began in 1988 and ended in 2001. The Steinberger GM4S was the standard GM4 model - with passive pickups and the S-Trem bridge. This is one of the original early production models.

This guitar comes in White finish with black binding. The auction includes trem arm and padded Gig Bag. It is currently set up with super low action with no string buzz. This guitar has only been played for a few studio sessions. It has never been gigged or mistreated. For a 30 year old guitar it is in VG+ Vintage condition. It has spent its entire life in its case in a smoke- and pet-free studio. It shows only minute signs of play wear. There are shallow finish cracks at the neck joint which is apparently common on this model. Otherwise the guitar is very clean.

The neck is fast and buttery and the action is perfect. This guitar is supremely comfortable and articulate with a massive range of tonal possibilities. I really hate to part with this guitar but I just don’t play electrics much anymore and this one should go to an appreciative and loving home.
