The guitar for sale is a unique instrument that doesn't show up in this condition very often. Hofner 176 Galaxie, model played by pros such as Dan Auerbach from Black Keys. Truly an awesome guitar that is fully playable and I hope it will find it's way to a working musician that will use it as much as possible to gig, record and play some music for the people :)
Guitar is in very good condition overall considering its age - there's few light dents on the body and neck but nothing worth mentioning, simply wear & tear that comes with a guitar that is almost 60 years old.
Neck is quite chunky with nice rounded profile, straight. Frets are in amazingly good condition with little wear, fretboard is almost perfect.
Tone range is crazy - you can use the rotary selector that goes between pickups & all 3 at once, where you can select which ones you want using the on/off switches next to pickups. On the other side of each pickup there is a tone control. Plus, on some of the selector options you can go directly to the "solo" option with an extra on/on switch.
With all that in mind, options are endless, they really are. Tones are deep, P90 - like, the guitar simply sings. Tremolo just adds to the vintage vibe, and used in moderation doesn't make the guitar fall out of tune too easy.
Highly recommend this one for someone looking not only for collectors piece, but a working instrument that's got the offset vibe and loads of vintage mojo.
