Hofner Galaxie 173/S Mid-60's 2 Tone Sunburst
Hofner Galaxie 173 Vintage Guitar 1965
Up for sale is a vintage German made Hofner model 173.
Alder body with nitro-cellulose finish. The 2 tone sunburst has extensive finish cracks front and back
The neck feels like a classic Fender C shape.
There is lots of wear on the back of the neck, but nothing that affects the playability
The tuners have been swapped with standard Fender tuning machines.
The pickups are factory original 510 Diamond logo in the neck and middle position and the 511 'staple' pickup at the bridge.
The tremolo has been locked and the arm is missing.
The original Bridge has been replaced with a Tune-o-Matic. Originality was sacrificed for playability and intonation. The holes for the posts on the original Bridge have been filled in but are still visible.
There are cracks in the pickguard, but all the pieces are still intact.
The on-off switches still work and all of the electronics seem to be Factory original and function as intended. No case
The action is low and the guitar plays great.
