Up for sale, a 1971 Harmony Sovereign H182 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. One of the last original USA-made Harmony Sovereign models and a guitar only featured in a single Harmony catalog, this auditorium body acoustic features a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and ladder braced construction. Having received all the maintenance due an acoustic of this vintage, this Harmony benefits from a professional neck reset as well as a new hand-carved bone nut. The sound is positively huge, with tons of top end cut and an authoritative bark that most X braced acoustics can’t match. Snappy, clear, and full-bodied, this Harmony responds well to fingerpicking too. Light as a feather at 3lbs 15oz, this Sovereign has been dialed in for optimal action and strung with 12-53 bronze strings.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a D shaped profile with pronounced shoulders and a fairly flat spot central to the profile carve, perfect for comfortably resting the thumb. The profile measures .890" deep at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th fret, and the guitar frets cleanly up the 25 1/4" scale with practically perfect original fretwire on the rosewood fretboard. The bone nut measures a full 1 3/4" in width. On the headstock, the silkscreened graphics are particularly clean and bold, and the original chrome tuning machines still function as intended.

The rosewood bridge sits flush with the top, and the original adjustable saddle is low yet viable and offers comfortable action in every register. Visible through the soundhole, the original H182 model stamp and Fall, 1971 date stamp are present. As the photos can attest, the guitar is exceedingly clean. Wear includes scuffing on both sides of the soundhole in the pick path, and one slender small repaired crack at the treble-side waist on the mahogany side. The guitar is otherwise crack-free and shows some scattered light scuffs on the back as well as a few shallow dings on the guitar as a whole.

A padded Roadrunner gigbag is included.
