Beautiful contours and workmanship on this Carvin DC 127 maple neck-thru/Honduras mahogany body.  The serial number (52909) is not helpful in dating this guitar but considering everything about the guitar I'd say it's from the mid 1990s.  The guitar comes with the original hard case which is in perfect condition, strap locks and a black leather strap, and two extra complete pole piece assemblies for the vintage Wilkinson bridge.  $780 plus $35 for shipping.

COSMETICS:  Nary a scratch but a few dings here and there.  Nothing major.  The neck is pristine as is the ebony fingerboard.  The gold plate on the bridge still looks good.  One of the Sperzel tuners was changed and the gold plate doesn't match the others.  I reversed the truss rod cover and re-beveled it because it was customized to say "Bobby Morris" who I assume was the original owner.  All in all it's a gorgeous instrument.

PLAYABILITY:  As good as it gets.  No sign of fret wear and it plays clearly all the way up to the 24th fret with low action.  (I did a light buffing, put on a set of GHS 9-42, intonated the bridge, set the action, adjusted the neck, and adjusted the tension on the tremolo (it stays in tune if you don't go crazy with it.)

SOUND:  In one word:  VERSATILE.  This Carvin guitar was my main player for a few years so I know what it can do.  The two tapped-coil humbucking pickups will get just about any sound you're after.  The humbuckers are "creamy" and when you tap the coils you can swear you're playing a Tele in the bridge position or a Strat when both pickups are on.
