The holy grail of all pickups since the 50s - the Tim Shaw pickups of the 80s have a great reputation as being as close to an original PAF for a fraction of the cost.

These pickups came stock in higher end Gibson guitars since late 1980 -1985. These are some of the nicest pickups so do yourself a favor and pick this set up.

These pickups have non-original covers on them. The neck PU cover fits ok, but the bridge pickup cover is not the correct spacing. I am unsure if the rings are original or not. The neck PU ring has a crack by the top right screw hole.

The neck pickup's date stamp has worn off for the most part, but all the other indicators are there. It has an ohm reading of 7.71 @ 78degrees F

The bridge pickups lead was cut too short. An extension has been added, however, one needs to put shrink tubing over the exposed wires to avoid it shorting out. Other than that, the pickup functions perfect. ohm reading of 7.64 @ 78 degrees F.

Restore your 80s Gibson back to original - or - put the best pickup for the money into your project.
