The PZM11 LL WR from AKG is a professional-level weather-resistant boundary layer microphone designed for outdoor use, including fast-food restaurant outdoor kiosks, outdoor intercoms, toll booths, SOS telephones, theme-park security and the like. It features a plastic membrane inside the housing that protects the mic capsule from water damage. It'll work during and after a rainfall. If water were to freeze on the membrane, the mic’s frequency response may be altered, but will return to normal when the ice melts and the membrane dries. It can be powered by 12V - 24 VAC or VDC as well as Phantom Power, provides line-level output, and can be plugged directly into a VCR line input without the need for a costly mic preamp.
