About This Listing

1950- Dickerson (pre-Magnatone) Model 8 Lap Steel Amplifier, black pearloid
This rare collectible combo amp has:
* 2-6V6 Power Tubes
* 8” Utah Field Coil speaker (original)
* Altec Lansing Power Transformer dated 1950
* No controls (controlled by guitar, in this case the Magnatone Lap Steel)
*  Recently re-tubed (power tubes)
* 3-prong power cable for safety
* Beautiful black Mother-of-Toilet seat covered with gold Dickerson decal!

Dickerson was one of the first musical instrument amplifier manufacturers and produced amplifiers for Oahu, Magnatone, Bronson, Varsity as well as many other catalog brands lost to time.  Eventually, Dickerson was sold off to Magna Electronics and became Magnatone Amps. This model was sold originally as a pair with a Magnatone Lap Steel. The amp has an original Utah 8" field coil speaker and runs 2 6V6 power tubes in parallel for a beautiful clean tone with the slightest hint of break up using a hot humbucker.
