Notes: Rare custom Stratocaster built by Bill Zolla of Zolla guitars in San Diego in the 1980s. Zolla was one of the early hot rod builders and a contemporary of Grover Jackson, Wayne Charvel and others building hot rod guitars in southern California in the late 1970's and 80's. I believe he still builds a limited number today as his facebook is active.
They are pretty rare and this one is awesome, who ever spec'd it was a Boss. I showed this to my friend Grover Jackson and he believes it is made from flamed KOA, I thought maybe walnut or mahogany. I am not really sure but whatever it is its awesome.
The pick up configuration is so cool, a Duncan Hot Rail in the Bridge and a hot Duncan P-90 in the neck. So many usable tones from this configuration and the tele style headstock of the Strat body is killer.
If this was a San Dimas Charvel from the 1980's (which it very closely resembles) it would cost a fortune, great chance to get the same vintage and hand built quality for way less dough.
