I acquired this Cloud Guitar from Prince (Literally) in 2004 and it has
been carefully stored ever since! I was a production assistant at
Paisley Park between the Musicology and Planet Earth era (Proof
available) and couldn't pass this funky thing up! Note: I don't believe
that Prince ever played this guitar, he just had a couple left in
storage at the studio and asked if anyone would want one..
There are so many knock offs, mini versions and home made options out there so don't be fooled, this is the neck-through Schecter Diamond series in which only 110 of it's kind were made. Who knows how many are still in this condition and you'll rarely see one for sale.. Prince had a lot of cheaper versions of the Cloud Guitar made over the years but decided to produce around 330 to be extremely close replicas of his for a tour in 2000. Some were bolt on necks, some were purple, some white and some neck-throughs. Lighting was a little different in the two rooms in these photos but some show the pearlescent finish brilliantly. For some reason a proper case was never made for this guitar so I had a custom one built which can be seen in the photos and comes with it. White Bullhorn case with purple faux fur lining, small pick storage as well as a set of keys. Also provided (If wanted) is the original cardboard box that it came in which has the handwritten manufacturer notes and numbers on the bottom. This model features Duncan Design humbucker/single coil neck pickups and Grover tuning pegs.
The guitar is near-mint condition because of a couple small manufacturing paint flaws near where the body meets the neck on the fretboard. Pics are attached, and as you can see they are so insignificant that you really need to know about it to even notice.. It's going to be really hard to let this guitar go, so please only serious buyers. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking. This is a real gem!
International shipping is available at actual cost, and can be negotiated at time of purchase.
**5% of the final auction amount will be donated to a charity of the winning bidder's choice! Please research the many foundations Prince has supported over the years**
