We're offering this rare
1964 Epiphone Sheraton Reissue, assembled and finished by Gibson USA,
with Gibson USA mini-humbuckers and Gibson USA hardware. Please see all
the pics. The high grade bodies and necks were produced in
Japan, apparently for the 1964 Limited Edition John Lee Hooker Sheraton,
and left over after Mr. Hooker passed away. Gibson USA produced these
1964 Reissues from 2000 to 2005 with the same specs as the original
Hooker Ltd model without the John Lee Hooker logo, using the same
American Gibson pickups, electronics, and hardware, and finishing them
in gorgeous nitrocellulose laquer - in this case Vintage Sunburst. The
original new list price was $3,194.00 eight years ago in 2005 and the
quality is right there with the current Gibson Custom Shop thinline
models(ES-335, ES-345, etc.,).
This rare instrument is a faithful reproduction of a 1964 Epiphone Sheraton. The specs include the multi-bound original body shape and materials, original style large headstock with 17 degree pitch, solid center block, one piece Mahogany neck, neck joint at 19th fret, Rosewood fretboard with orignal style mother-of-pearl and abalone block and triangle inlays, two gold plated "New York" mini humbuckers, gold Grover tuners, multi layer "E" pickguard, and "Frequensator" tailpiece with Tuneomatic bridge.
This beautiful guitar is in excellent condition with the body being near mint with a few light weather checks in one of the cutaways, the neck with just a few light scratches, and slight wear on the headstock(again, please see all the pics). Overall a beautiful instrument - the gold hardware looks great and there's very little fretwear. It's had an Earvana compensated nut($40) installed and plays exceptionally well - the Gibson reissue "New York" mini humbuckers and electronics sound amazing as you'd expect. Included is the original Epiphone logo hardshell case, an owners manual, an Epiphone bumper sticker, and some Jim Dunlop picks. New list was $3,200 with a discount price of $2,500. Please call[removed] or e-mail with any questions and thanks for looking!
