This is a vintage early 60's Kay 5935 bass guitar with a hollow body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 30″ scale length. Original Kay Speedbump pickup and electronics, Kluson Waffle tuners and nice flamed maple on the front and back. Neck is straight, truss rod works, frets are in good shape and it's been set up to play well and in tune.
When I got this, the original tailpiece and bridge had been replaced. The original mounting posts for the bridge are also in the wrong place for correct intonation as is often the case wth these old Kays. I made a new rosewood bridge for this so it could be placed in the proper position for better playability and intonation. Plays very well and sounds great now while retaining that vintage wooden-bridge thump of the original design.
Thumb rest has been added, truss rod cover is newer and position markers have been added at some point. Whoever did that apparently got confused and put double dots at the 11th fret, so those were filled and properly placed 12th fret dots are in place where science and progress prefers them. The headstock logo is a decal, not the original metal logo but it looks pretty good and is the correct size.
No case with this but I can get you a gig bag or case and just charge you my cost on it if you'd prefer. Neck will need to be removed for international shipping.
