Gretsch New Classic Maple Drum Set 2011 Ocean Blue Sparkle 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 22

This is a set of Gretsch New Classic drums in Ocean Sparkle Burst. This hand applied lacquer finish uses Gretsch's exclusive Mixed Sparkle Technology and was the premium finish option for this line, which has been discontinued. The sizes are 7x8, 8x10, 9x12, 14x14, 16x16, 18x18, and 18x22. A set in this configuration is rare and offers many possibilities for the gigging drummer. You would be covered from a jazz gig (using the 18 as your kick) to a standard set up, to a rock set up, to a monster kit set up. You could record or tour with a kit like this.

The New Classic series includes proportionate shells that increase in thickness as shell diameters increase to give a full, balanced tonality across the entire drum set. The shells are in perfect condition and perfectly in round while the hardware needs some detailing. The finish on the 12" and 16" toms have some weird scratches or cracks in the finish that are long but difficult to notice unless you're looking carefully with the right light. I tried my best to capture them in the picture. You don't really notice unless carefully inspecting the drums. You'd just have to see them to see what I mean. Also, it was hard to get perfect lighting, some of the pictures make the finish look streaked. It is not. Overall, the finish is pretty good with just a few minor marks on some of the other drums. I shot the pictures from smallest to largest so that you can see the order. I have more picture. reverb only lets you upload 25.

The chrome hardware is in good shape with my scratches but no real signs of pitting or rust. I gave them a quick cleaning. A detailing of the hardware and new heads will have these in tip top condition. Floor tom legs and are included along with a tom arm and clamp to secure to another stand. You will need a tom stand for the other rack toms. At the time of production, these listed for $7295 and would've sold at retail for around $4,500-5,000.
