Craig's POV: I’m always on the lookout for exceptional guitars for the shop, so I will occasionally order an instrument from an exceptional builder that’s new to me just to experience something new and to broaden my guitar horizon. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not so much.
This amazing Jersey Girl “Audrey” model falls squarely in the former. Jersey Girl guitars are all handmade in Japan, each unique, all with over the top fine detailed craftsmanship. This particular instrument is named after the great Stoic Philosopher “Seneca”. It’s an LP style guitar and is absolutely a sight to behold. Every aspect of the guitar - from the woods to the fit and finish and electronics- come together in a deeply thoughtful way. The sound is rich, woody and pristine with plenty of growl when pushed.
The totality of the style, sound and ergonomics in the Seneca reminds me of my beloved Taku Sakashta Noupaul. The integrity of build, the care and love of detail and the wide open tone all hint at Taku’s renowned work.
The wonderful Jersey Girl “Seneca” is the only one I have available at this time. But this I know for sure, I would absolutely love to have Jersey Girl guitars on my builder list at some point in the future.
