Offered up for your delight are this pair of Unique 1980s Zildjian K/K Custom 13" Combo Hihats that are in Excellent Condition. Check out the pictures! There are
NO
nicks, cracks, dents, or dings on these gems. They're in great shape with a light patina beginning to form.
As you ca see they're overall CLEAN for a pair of 35 year old 80s Zildjian Ks!
Look at the K Custom bottom cymbal -it's like the ORIGINAL 80s K Custom but in a 13"! Unlathed with heavy hammering!
What makes this specific pair of Zildjians unique is that the top cymbal is a regular 80s Zildjian K Top Hihat however the bottom cymbal is an Unlathed K CUSTOM with factory notches on the perimeter on the cymbal. Some of you may recall this rara avis from the 80s. They're not exactly easy to find and I probably wouldn't even be aware of it were I not a weird freak who enjoys odd cymbals. The notches prevent airlock between the cymbals so you get a very SOLID CHICK tone that is fast--similar to Zildjian Quick Beats but they're heavier and unlathed.
The K Top cymbal weighs in at 840 grams and the Unlathed K Custom Bottom cymbal weighs 1288 grams. That's pretty damn heavy for a 13" bottom hihat, and you can rest assure that provides a solid chick tone!
As many of you may know, the top cymbal supplies most of the tone with a pair of hihats. And this K Top Cymbal lends a dark, warm, lower pitched vibe to this marriage while the Ultra Heavy Unlathed K Custom provides an unrivaled Bone-Crunching CHICK! Truly one of the strongest "CHICKS" you will encounter in a set of hihats.
The end result is a pair of DARK for 13s", lower-pitched hihats that have wonderful projection capabilities.
And that's NOT an easy combination to find.
Oh, and of course you'll reap the benefits of the anti-airlock fast action compliments of the K Custom.
