Epiphone square shouldered dreadnaught guitar made in Kalamazo, MI. in 1964 (serial # 171898).
The body is mahogany with a multi-bound spruce top and tortoise celluloid pick guard . The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlay. The overall length is 42 in., 16 in. wide at lower bout. Depth is 4 7/8 in. taken at the end block. Nut width 1 5/8" with 25 3/8 scale length.
In excellent condition other than worn frets and a few little dings in the finish there has been no structural damage. A Mitchell Plate Mate was placed over bridge plate by luthier inside the body where the end beads of the guitar strings had begun to press into the maple (?) bridge plate. Plate Mate can be easily removed should a new bridge plate be installed.
An appraisal by Minneapolis luthier Charles A. Hoffmann in November, 2016 states that guitar is "in very good shape (approximately 90% condition)". A scanned copy of complete appraisal letter is available on request.
New hard case.
