WFL Ludwig 1948-50s Custom Bass depth 20x18,13,16 3 piece drums

WFL (William F Ludwig) 3 piece shell pack  in Stunning Black Diamond Pearl with Custom sized 20x18 bass drum with chrome over brass hoops

Very nice !  The heads have some stick marks but are still fresh. Mahogany interiors, maple rings.  


This is a real charmer.  A very rare sized custom bass drum 18" deep vs. the typical 14"!  A modern depth rarely seen in vintage gear.  Badges have WFL with the street address and Chicago USA at bottom.

• 20x18 Bass drum with spurs and 2 cymbal holders, cowbell arm.   1948-'52 Keystone Badge (extremely rare size)
• 13x9  with an extra arm mount for stabilizing the tom (either  added at the factory or a very long time ago since it includes the bent arm).  Has some typical rash on the drummer facing side, but  not that noticable from distance given this color 1948-'52 Keystone Badge
• 16x16 with a mount for a straight cymbal arm on top  1948-'52 Keystone badge
▪ L arm for a cowbell / accessory to mount - just a straight rod, no cymbal holding appendage.

Mahogany interiors with maple re-rings

• Rash on the wrap of the 13" tom.

Triple flanged, chrome over brass hoops
• Very clean edges and interiors.
• Good chrome with little to no pitting
Wear is typical of this vintage, interior and edges are clean - some light pitting on lugs, could use polishing all around.

Some marks on the bass hoops, some tape residue on pedal side hoop.
Claws show some rust, light on most, heavier on about 4.
