G&L L-5500 1995 Honeyburst

One Owner: Purchased by me in November, 1995.

Condition: Quite excellent, especially for a 20-year-old bass. Some light buckle-rash on the back, very clean on the front. A minuscule nick on the back of the neck at about the 15th fret, couldn't even really get it in the picture, no affect on playability at all, just full disclosure. This really is a beautiful guitar.

Body: Solid contoured ash body in a orange-tinged honeyburst finish. G&L top-load bridge with 5 individual saddles and plastic control knobs.

Neck: Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 15/16” nut. G&L open-gear nickel tuners, 34” scale length.

Pickups/Electronics: EMG pickups in the neck and bridge with master volume control, pickup blend control and a stacked concentric bass/treble control.

Weight: 10lbs, 10.0oz.

Playability/Sound: The EMG pickups provide a perfect balance of tone. Anything from a bright, punchy tone to a thick and warm sound with a defined low end is easy to dial in. The 5-string configuration offers tons of versatility! While some complain of its not being a 'traditional' G&L tone, I can attest that this bass sounds absolutely huge on stage and on the track, and can handle just about any tonal request you throw at it. The low B is thunderous!
