The Case...
This guitar comes in it's original Gibson Lifton-Style Reissue case. This is the most desirable - though - less historically accurate version of the case. This one has the double neck rest and all traditional latches. The only 'downside' to these cases are they are too pretty to gig with! haha. This one shows some light scuffs from storage and a few scratches here or there. Overall, it is in very presentable condition.
The certificate of authenticity as well as many other original paper works sleep inside the case compartment.
The Guitar! 9lbs 11oz | Medium Neck Profile
You've likely never seen one of these before - A 3 P90 Les Paul Custom in WHITE!- but believe it or not, in 1958 Gibson received a custom order for a Les Paul just like this one. This is too, is a custom ordered, 1 of 1, Gibson Les Paul Custom from the Music Zoo as part of their Made to Measure program that Gibson does with them and other Custom Shop dealers. This appears to have been one that the shop asked to be built for themselves to be offered for sale to the public. You can still see their original listing where this guitar sold for $5500 new! The current wait time for a custom M2M is 8 weeks. You can have this one in less than a week for much less!
This guitar was purchased in very early 2018 and was used sparingly by the original owner. You can see there is a very small ding on the top of the guitar as well as some picking scratches. There is the typical polishing swirls and light playware on the guitar as well. Nothing too major. The worst thing cosmetically to this guitar is the case appears to have leeched into the white finish on the back of the headstock and half-way up the neck. It isn't overly apparent, but is definitely worthwhile to know about. The guitar is break, crack and repair free. It is all original, however, I did add springs to the undersides of the pickups to allow for customizable pickup heights since Gibson did not on this model.
Tonally, this has to be the BEST clean sounding guitar I've ever had my hands on. 3 P90s just work crazily well on a Les Paul. I'm surprised there aren't more out there like this. Dirty tones, the guitar have a nice lead bluesy sound, but I wasn't super impressed with dirty rhythm playing. I find the bridge pickup is a little 'thin' sounding for that type of playing. If you're a jazzy player or are into more clean tones, you're going to fall in love with this guitar - guaranteed! I know I did!
Conclusion
If you've got one of everything in your collection - you definitely need to add this one as well. It's not a traditional Les Paul, but man... does it sound and play awesomely!
