Vintage, original c 1958 Kay old craftsman truetone electric guitar, with all the coolest period Kay features, and super top-end parts and features of their finest work, and the corresponding dark tobacco sunburst, and rosewood fretboard. These Kays were direct competitors to Gibson and Gretsch at this time, and were not budget instruments. She's a great player, with lovely vintage character, great vibe and feel.
The neck is dead-on, arrow straight, and lightning fast, every bit as good as any from this era. The rosewood fretboard is smooth and tight, and the frets have plenty of life. The original “speed bump” single coil p90 style pickups are hot and nasty, sounds perfect on vintage rock, surf and country, but also gets really mean and growly when distorted. You can make awesome controlled, singing feedback, almost like having an ebow. She's also a go-to for country rock picking through an old tweed fender.
Cosmetically, she's in very well played vintage condition, and proudly shows only the light, authentic, and natural exterior finish wear one would expect of a well cared for, well loved and well played instrument of this age and pedigree, all included at no extra a charge. There is a good amount of sticker residue in the finish on the rear of the guitar, but no cracks, no breaks, and no funny business though. She's all original, and a quality hardshell case (not pictured) is included. Enjoy!
