2000 Modulus Flea bass 5 for sale. I am a fretted instrument tech in a music store in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and as you can see I modified the bass quite a bit electronically...I replaced the original single MM style pickup with a pair of Lakland 55 series pickups, and then installed a Bartolini two band preamp and a switching system to keep passive controls out of the signal path of the raw pickup signal. One of the photos is labelled describing the functionality of the control system. The previous owner marked the body quite a bit, and the neck minimally (nothing on the back where your hand goes). As you can see and hear in the video that I linked (bass solo starts at 4:16), the bass looks and sounds amazing on stage...plays spectacularly well (it also has a truss rod along with the graphite neck)...has a huge tone palette with pretty much every sound being useful. It has all of the switching functionality of a Lakland 55 series bass with the rear coil of the bridge pickup in 70s JBass territory so the bass has fantastic growl. I also installed inline switches to allow you to slightly favour either neck or bridge pickups, so all of the great JBass tones are there, along with a credible PBass tone, MM tone, Tele bass tone, a fabulous modern sizzling bass tone and pretty much anything in between. I am selling to raise money for another purchase.
