In 1999 Neumann reintroduced a high end tube microphone, after years of not offering one at all. The M 149 was that mike, and it is a marvelous instrument, using the K-49 capsule design (from the U47 mike) and it is transformerless (transformers tend to age poorly). It has that magnificent Neumann tube sound, but is not merely a vocal mike. It sounds good on about everything. It comes with the older style Power Supply Unit (PSU), which is an option w/ Neumann, and both the new smaller black unit and the older style have identical internals and perform the same. This PSU "look" just makes one think this might be an old Neumann tube mike PSU, but it is purely cosmetic. You should check out the reviews. I have owned this mike for several years and it is an older mike, in very good condition. It shows some very minor wear, which I tried to show in the photos, but it is in other wise excellent condition. I have priced it to sell. You can buy a new one for about $6,000, or buy mine for under 1/2 of that. The Neumann original box works fine, but has numerous tears and wear in the cardboard, which are likely age and use based. It was like that when I bought it (I put the box in a closet and let it sit). Thank you for looking at this mike, and feel free to ask any questions.
