The Fender American Professional Jazzmaster Rosewood in Black marks a fresh chapter in Fender's modern professional lineup. You've seen the original American Professional, the American Professional II, and the American Professional Classic. This refreshed American Professional Series receives several targeted refinements aimed at expanding both tone and stability. Its V-Mod III pickups use Alnico 4 magnets, while the bridge incorporates compensated brass saddles for improved intonation. A push-push tone control accesses a lower-output vintage-style bridge voice, and the upper-horn switch engages Series Mode for a thicker, more powerful sound than a traditional Jazzmaster rhythm circuit. The Black finish, tortoiseshell pickguard, aged white pickup covers and knobs give this version a familiar offset look, while the updated electronics provide far more tonal flexibility than a traditional two-pickup Jazzmaster layout.

The Deep "C" maple neck features rolled fingerboard edges, a 9.5" radius, and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish for a smooth, comfortable feel. A sculpted neck heel improves access to the upper register, while 22 narrow tall frets provide a useful balance between traditional Fender response and modern lead playability. V-Mod III Jazzmaster single-coils deliver articulate sparkle and chime, with the bridge pickup tap adding a lower-output vintage-style voice and the rhythm circuit engaging both pickups in series for a thicker, higher-output sound.

The Panorama Tremolo with pop-in arm provides everything from subtle warble to deeper pitch movement, while the ClassicGear J-Bridge helps keep intonation and stability in check. Fender staggered sealed tuners, a bone nut, and Micro-Tilt neck adjustment round out a setup built for working players. We think this Black version is a strong choice for anyone who wants classic Jazzmaster character with a more flexible and refined feature set.
