The TAMA AN1465 Anika Nilles Snare 14"x6.5" was developed over a period of around two years with the aim of combining deep bass, clear definition and the character of classic vintage snares. The seamless 1.2 mm aluminium shell provides a warm, assertive tonal foundation, whilst the 6.5" depth ensures powerful bass and plenty of body. Four integrated grooves and the extended rim increase the shell’s rigidity without unnecessarily restricting its natural resonance. The 2.3 mm Sound Arc hoops complement the open fundamental character with a clear attack and precise rimshots, whilst original Superstar lugs and the 20-spiral Starclassic Hi-Carbon Steel snare wire ensure reliable performance and a responsive snare wire attack. The integrated Mod-Tone muffler allows the damping to be switched on or off instantly, whilst the contact pressure can be finely adjusted via a rotary control. The Signature snare comes factory-fitted with an Evans G1 Coated batter head and an Evans Snare Side resonant head, providing a versatile foundation for dynamic grooves, precise ghost notes and powerful accents.
