The CS-3 is an analog compressor that evens out the dynamics of the input signal, resulting in smooth sustain. It employs a high-performance VCA circuit, ensuring fast compression response and stable sustain. The wide-range SUSTAIN control and the TONE control, which adjusts the high-frequency components, allow for a wide range of sound characteristics, from fat, flowing lead sounds to crisp, articulate cutting. Furthermore, by controlling the attack with the ATTACK knob, it's possible to create a clear and crisp sound with distinct attack for each note, even in passages with many notes.

The exterior shows signs of use, but there are no problems with its operation.
