Condition & Project Note (Sold As-Is)

Shell & Wrap: The factory Gold Sparkle wrap retains solid color and brilliance. The shell is structurally sound and in-round with tight, intact maple reinforcement rings and clean bearing edges. The interior retains its original white Resa-Cote paint along with a legible June 25, 1962 factory date stamp. There are no extra structural cracks or shell modifications beyond the strainer replacement area.

Hardware & Functionality: The 8 Classic lugs, tension rods, hoops, and butt plate are intact and thread smoothly. The strainer has been upgraded with a later vintage 1970s/1980s Ludwig unit that operates properly with positive tensioning and release action. The original internal baseball bat tone control/mute assembly is missing. The mounted snare wires are in good, playable condition. The installed older Ludwig heads show extensive wear and age, and replacement is recommended to bring out the full acoustic potential of the drum.

Offered strictly AS-IS as an early-1960s pre-serial Ludwig Jazz Festival snare drum for straightforward restoration, detailing, or player use.
