Fender Modified Stratocaster 1969

Summary

Body: Alder

Neck: Maple neck with 1 5/8" wide nut and rosewood fretboard with pearloid dot inlays. The neck stamp reads "22APR69B".

Pickups/Hardware: Two single coils, one humbucker, five-way pickup selector switch, one volume and two tone controls, Kahler vibrato bridge (arm is missing), and Fender tuners

Cosmetic Condition: The body has some checking all over, as well as small scratches, dings, and spots of finish wear. The neck has had its finish worn on the back from play and is very smooth to the touch for some quick playing. The headstock shows typical signs of wear around the edges. This Strat looks awesome!

Playability: The thin neck makes for some extremely fast playing on the low strings, which fret evenly across the board and practically play themselves.

Modifications: The bridge position pickup route has been routed for a DiMarzio humbucker which has been installed. Both single coils have been replaced by one flat polepiece in the neck position from 1979 and a staggered polepiece from 1979 in the middle. The five-way pickup switch has been replaced. The bridge has been routed for and replaced by a Kahler vibrato bridge. The original neck plate has a hole drilled into the middle of it. The neck has been sanded down and refinished for a thinner profile and has also been refretted. The headstock has had a section cut off for a different shape. Two potentiometers are originals from 1969 and one has been replaced by a later one. The entire guitar has been refinished.
